#AWARD: The Miranda Sings Award

I enjoy reading award posts on other people’s blogs and I’m always excited when I’m lucky enough to be nominated for one. This is a new one that I haven’t seen before so thanks to the lovely Claire at BrizzleLass Books  for the tag, do go and have a look at all her fabulous posts on her blog.

Rules

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List 7 things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

7 Things I Love About Myself

This is a lot harder than it looks when you actually have to stop and think about yourself! I’m usually worrying about other people so for once I will attempt to think of me! So in no particular order here goes …

1.  I’m kind, friendly and approachable .. I have always prided myself on being the one person that people feel they can turn to. I listen when they want to confide, give advice if it’s asked for and just generally supply tea, cake, hugs etc. I’m happy if I can help others.

2. I can bake .. I enjoy baking cakes, biscuits, deserts anything sweet really. It’s something I love doing and I am proud of some of my creations over the years. Give me something savoury to cook and it’s safe to say I don’t love that!

3. My scars .. It may sound crazy to some but I love my scars. My body is covered in them from the amount of surgery I have had but each one indicates that I’m stronger than the bastard cancer which is intent on destroying me. I never try to cover them up, each one has a story and if it helps somebody else when they ask about them then I consider that a bonus.

4. Being a mum .. Without a doubt the proudest moments in my life have been my children. I am determined to be as good as I can be for as long as possible. My inner strength comes from being a mother.

5. Being a blogger .. My world has been opened up by blogging. At a time when I physically couldn’t get out and about to socialise my little book blog started to become popular. Reading is one of my greatest passions, always has been so to be able to share my love of books and interact with some wonderful authors and bloggers has been amazing. I now consider so many of them to be my friends.

6. Overcoming mental health .. It is no secret that I have had numerous mental health issues in the past, anorexia, depression, self-harming, anxiety, panic attacks to name a few that I have been diagnosed with. So I am very proud that I’m maintaining a healthy approach at the moment. Yes, there are bad days and the odd wobble now and again but finally I feel comfortable with myself.

7. My smile .. It’s not so much my smile but the ability to smile that I love. Each day I wake up is a bonus, every little thing I do during the day is an achievement. When my cancer was diagnosed and I was given the prognosis life looked extremely grim. Well I have out-lived the life expectancy they gave me so I have to keep fighting, stay strong and smile. If today/tomorrow turns out to be my last at least I hope I will be remembered for remaining positive!

Thanks for reading if you have got this far .. much love to you all xx
