My Review

You know as soon as you begin a Holly Martin book you are in for a treat. It’s still September as I read this so I knew it was going to take something exceptional to get me into the festive spirit.

This book starts off slowly and sucks you in until you can’t imagine any other season exists!

Piper has a fabulous job, she travels the world writing reviews on all the places she stays. After one less than perfect accommodation she finds herself being whisked to Juniper Island. Secluded, beautiful, relaxing she has pleasant memories of it from childhood so she views this as her last ‘job’ before taking a break.

All is well as she arrives, the journey extraordinary .. all she has to do is be greeted by the owner then she can slip into her comfy bed and rest. But like all good romance stories .. the owner is none other than her old bestfriend/boyfriend, Gabe who she hasn’t seen for twelve years. She had a traumatic accident and circumstances forced her to run, now they have been bought back together, only lsight hiccup is he now has a young daughter, Wren. A real little cutie with a fondness for Princess Elsa.

While they have to attempt to keep things ‘friendly’ for the sake of appearances, love usually finds a way.

There are some great characters added through the book and I adored the inclusion of mischievous Shetland ponies, puppies and reindeer. The whole setting is magical, snow, twinkly lights, roaring fires, markets stalls .. Holly weaves such an endearing picture. It an only be described as magical.

Wren takes an instant liking to Pip and the relationship blossoms .. will there be a happy ending .. I will leave that to your imagination all I will say is I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series which I will be reading/reviewing very soon!

This is quite simply a splendid insight into a world I would love to be part of.

Many thanks to Holly, Bookouture and Netgalley for my copy stars-5-0._V192197110_
