#BlogTour #GuestPost ~ Death in Dulwich by Alice Castle @DDsDiary @emmamitchellfpr

Thirty-something single mum Beth Haldane has her hands full, with a bouncy young son, haughty cat, a fringe with a mind of its own, and bills to pay. She loves her little home in plush London suburb Dulwich, but life here doesn’t come cheap.

She is thrilled to land the post of archivist at top local school Wyatt’s – though she secretly fears she’s not up to the job. But even Beth couldn’t have imagined how badly things could go, until she discovers a hideous crime and finds herself prime suspect.

Setting out to clear her name, Beth encounters a cast of characters who will follow her through the London Murder Mystery series, proving along the way that the nastiest secrets can lurk in the nicest places.

About the Author

Alice Castle had a long career as a feature writer on national newspapers including the Daily Express, The Times and The Daily Telegraph before becoming a novelist. After a day writing about her prime suspects, she loves nothing better than curling up with a murder mystery at night. Alice grew up in south London and, after a brief stint in Brussels (where her first novel, Hot Chocolate, is set) she is back where she belongs, dreaming up more adventures for her heroine, amateur detective and single mum Beth Haldane. She is married with two children, two stepchildren and two cats, and writes about parenting on her mummy blog, DD’s Diary www.dulwichdivorcee.com. Her latest book, Death in Dulwich, is being published in September 2017 by Crooked Cat Books.

Guest Post

I’ve ended up living very close to the part of London where I went to school, after being in Brussels for nearly ten years and then living elsewhere in the city. It’s nice to be home. Most of my friends are from uni and work days, though a fair few are the parents of my children’s friends. They’re a great bunch, wherever I found them.

I’m married to another writer, but someone who’s more interested in facts and science than fiction. I’ve got two daughters and he has a son and daughter, so we have a houseful between us. We have two cats to add to the mix as well. It’s the cats, of course, that run the house.

I was a journalist before writing books, and I still write the odd article here and there, as well as keeping up my blog. I also edit other people’s books for publication, and oversee an interior design website as well.

I’m very into crochet. It’s quite a neglected craft. My grandmother crocheted years ago and I picked up the hobby on a whim, and soon became hooked. I now make blankets, throws, tops, and bikinis to commission and also sell them at craft fairs.

I’m loving the series of whodunits I’m writing at the moment and I’d like to keep that going for as long as people are interested. I’m really fond of my single mother detective – she’s feisty and smart and growing a little in confidence with every book.

My daughters will both be off at uni from September but my other two are still around and family is really important to me.

We’re able to travel a bit more these days and it’s great accompanying my husband on business trips abroad.

I’d love to travel more in England and Scotland – I’ve been abroad a lot but I hardly know bits of my own country, something that it would be great to change.
