#BlogTour #Review ~ Air Guitar and Caviar by @JackieLadbury @rararesources #Giveaway

Busker Dylan spends his days pulling pints in the local pub and singing on the high street, waiting for fame to call. That suits him fine, until beautiful, but frosty, air stewardess, Scarlett, tosses some coins into his hat but ignores his killer smile and his offer of pizza. He sets out to get the girl, but Scarlett isn’t in the right frame of mind to date anyone, let alone a penniless, if charming, busker boy.

Dylan’s desperate for his big break, but will it bring him the happiness he longs for? And with Scarlett’s past threatening to ruin her future, will Dylan be left to make sweet music all on his own?

About the Author

Jackie Ladbury was desperate to become a journalist when she left school but was ousted within minutes on the day of the exam at her local rag because she’d forgotten to bring a pen.

Short and sharp lesson learned.

Her budding writing career was not on hold for long, though, as Jackie found herself scribbling love stories of pilots and ‘hosties’ while she flew in aeroplanes of various shapes and sizes as a flight attendant herself.

Fast forward a good few years and, after being short-listed in a couple of prestigious romantic writing competitions, Jackie decided it was time to discard her stilettos, say goodbye to the skies and concentrate on writing romantic novels, where the only given is a guaranteed ‘happy ever after.’

My Review

I’m picking and choosing the books I read a lot more carefully these days due to illness, lack of concentration or even dare I say enthusiasm, so any book has to sell itself to me rapidly to stand a chance of opening the first page. Well, the cover of Air Guitar and Caviar looks so dreamy and relaxed I was immediately drawn to it, add in the quirky title, and a busker meant I was prepared to dip in!

Dylan is such a lovable rogue, he begins as a rather naive busker, a very typical guitarist in his attitude. He is definitely a dreamer, not afraid to set his sights high without too much thought about failure!

Then along comes Scarlett, obviously way out of his league from first appearances but he falls headfirst for her. I enjoyed the readability of this story, basically a will they, won’t they measured by how awkward and cringe worthy his chat up lines can be.

Scarlett is an air stewardess, she comes across as stand offish and not overwhelmingly likeable at first but as the story develops and some of her history becomes apparent I found myself liking her a little more and wanting the best for the pair of them, regardless of how it pans out. There are plenty of hurdles to cross which keeps it entertaining.

An enjoyable, funny read, you will adore Dylan, steady pace that keeps you reading happily until the end.

Thanks to the author and Rachel at Random Resources for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
