#BlogTour #Review ~ Summer’s Lease by @CarrieElks @ClaraHDiaz @PiatkusBooks

I’m thrilled my stop on the blog tour coincides with release day for this lovely book! Have a great day Carrie 🙂 xx

A free summer holiday in a beautiful villa in Lake Como. The catch? Sharing a house with her worst enemy . . .

Cesca Shakespeare has hit rock bottom. After one prize-winning play that ended in disaster, writer’s block turned up, moved in and got a Netflix subscription. Six years later, she’s just lost her crappy job and is about to lose her flat. Worse still, her sisters have no idea how far she’s fallen. So when her fairy Godfather offers her a free summer holiday in a beautiful Italian villa, she grudgingly agrees to try writing a new play. That’s before she finds out the house belongs to her arch-nemesis, Sam Carlton.

Having just hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons – again – Hollywood heart-throb Sam Carlton needs a place to hide out. Where better than his family’s gorgeous empty villa on Lake Como? Except when he arrives, it isn’t as empty as he’d hoped.

One thing’s for sure – this is going to be a red-hot, scorching summer . . .

A brand new series from the bestselling author of Fix You and the Love in London series. Look out for more in The Shakespeare Sisters with A Winter’s Tale coming soon from Carrie Elks.

My Review

This story has so much going for it, as a cat lover I adore the fact Cesca worked in a cat cafe even if she wasn’t quite so keen! If you want a fun filled angst ridden combination in a scorching setting with sizzling chemistry at times then you really should give Summer’s Lease a read.

Poor Cesca her dreams of being a script writer plummeted after Sam deserted her six years previously and in the interim she has drifted from job to job. So when at an absolute low she is given the opportunity to house sit in Italy what could possibly stand in her way?

Lake Como is an idyllic setting, just feel the warmth on your face and enjoy the sunshine. But her godfather Hugh who has arranged the trip fails to tell her the villa she will be staying in actually belongs to the man who broke her!

When Cesca and Sam realise they will both be in the same house the tension rises and there seems no way to compromise. They can barely be civil to each other, she just wants a peaceful summer and he wants to escape the tabloids.

I really like the fire and sparks between this pair, Cesca needs a good sharp shock sometimes though the way she acts around Sam but then again perhaps he deserves it.

Will they ever be able to put their differences behind them and survive the summer? You will just have to read and find out. A brilliant voyage of friendship, family, love and passion all with the backdrop of Italy.

This is the first in the series about the Shakespeare girls and I look forward to possibly finding out more about Cesca’s sisters in the future.

Thanks to Carrie, Pikatus and Netgalley for my copy which  read and reviewed voluntarily.
