The Treachery of Trains

By author – Sylvia Ashby

Blurb:

Sky has made an abominable mistake at work. Something so awful she doesn’t dare stay in the HR office of XIM Technics for fear of being lynched by her colleagues.

So she gets on a train…

What happens when it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year?

Sky Candy is about to find out.

“Like a late night, post-pub cheeseboard or the final few drops of Rosé, it will prove mighty hard to resist.”

“If this book were a movie, it would be the biggest romantic comedy of the next five years, and I’d be first in line to pay my $10 for a ticket and $20 worth of popcorn and soda.”

“Great characters, interesting plot line and wonderful writing bringing it all together! Well worth the read. Kind of hoping for a sequel.”

My Review

I’m not quite sure how to categorise this book .. it’s a cross between a romantic comedy and suspense. There is a lot of travelling and descriptive writing involved.

I couldn’t quite decide if I liked Sky or not, one moment she was irritating, then needy then we hear what happened to her mother and the mood changes again. Her relationship with her aunt and uncle was portrayed brilliantly. She always feels the need to take care of people.

The writing is cleverly done and is at the right pace to keep pulling you back into the story just as your mind thinks it has found it’s niche. A good book for folks who want something a little different from the usual rom-com mould.

Thanks to the author and HCL Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion. stars-3-0._V192197091_
