Merry Mistletoe by Emma Davies .. I loved this book!
I have had this book sitting on my Kindle for a long time waiting to work it’s way up my long list ‘To Be Read’ I’m so pleased it finally reached the top at this time of year & thanks to Emma for being so patient with me waiting for a review!
It’s a nice length novella, so ideal to curl up with a warm drink & lose yourself in the story. Freya is delightful & obviously has a passion for her home, more so since her father passed on & she is determined to keep the business afloat. But hardship comes her way & the only option seems to be to sell the Appleyard Farm. I didn’t like her boyfriend, Gareth seems a total waste of space & I was willing Freya to deck him!
Amos is a lonely figure who appears in her time of need & because Freya is such a sweetie she gives him a place to stay in return for him doing some work .. it seems they need each other in equal measures.
Sam & Stephen Henderson are keen to buy the farm but for reasons best known to Freya that thought makes her more determined to try & succeed .. she puts all her effort into making the decorations to sell at the Mistletoe Fair in the hope she can ward off the prospect of losing her home.
This is a superb story, full of innocence & love beautifully written & has left me with a warm glow & big smile .. there must be something magical about Mistletoe 🙂
